At Animal People Dog Boarding & Day Care, we're more than just a place for your pets to stay and play—we're a family dedicated to the well-being of every dog. Located in the heart of Charlotte, NC, we are passionate about finding loving homes for dogs in need and offering a second chance to our furry friends through supporting Charlotte Mecklenburg’s Animal Care & Control and other local rescues.

Meet Our Inspiration: Addie

Our journey into the world of dog adoption started with Addie, our beloved German Shepherd. We adopted Addie through the Charlotte Mecklenburg County adoption program in which we now support. When she first came to us, Addie had faced many challenges and was quite a timid dog. She was afraid of doorways, would not look you in the eye, and nervous lick if you looked in her direction. With love, care, attention and patience, Addie has transformed into a joyful, confident, and loving member of our family. She inspires us every day and fuels our commitment to helping other dogs find their furever homes.

Fostering: A Bridge to Forever Homes

We have committed to be a foster for the Charlotte Mecklenburg County adoption program and invite you and others to as well. Please consider fostering! On average over 650,000 dogs are put down each year due to not having a home. North Carolina ranks high on that list as one of the top states in the nation with the most dogs euthanized annually. We invite you if you are unable to adopt to provide a temporary home for dogs while they await adoption. Fostering provides dogs with a loving environment and helps them adjust to family life, making their transition to a permanent home smoother. As foster parents and a foster facility, we look to play a crucial role in the dog’s journey to finding a forever family.
